PRS unveiled their Santana MD signature model at NAMM. It's one of 12 new PRS models to be announced. Tom Wheeler was the master of ceremonies and spoke at length about the dawning of a new era for PRS guitars and the quality and new sound of their instruments.

Carlos Santana personally introduced the model, and its “multi-dimensional” Voice Control. Also shared was Santana’s appreciation of Paul Smith’s “vision of sound.” Santana said, “Sound and tone are everything. Sounds, resonance, vibrations…these are our tools. With these tools we get to give people chills. [PRS] guitars allow us to do that unconsciously; we don’t have to think about it.”
