Rees F2 Chambered Guitar has been updated
The second generation of the Rees flagship model F2 guitar continues to be made in Cambridge, England. Changes have been made to simplify and speed up construction, without sacrificing any of the guitar's fine tone and sustain. The cost savings are being passed on to customers. The neck joint has been made more conventional, without using carbon fibre, and the korina wood control cover on the back is an elegant oval shape. Carbon fibre neck joints for easy highest fret access continue to be available on Rees custom guitars.

The body is made of selected korina hard tone-wood with a 9 mm thick front of flame maple. Both the front and back are carved out internally before being glued together. The central part of the body from the neck through the pickups to the bridge is solid, providing longest sustain that is minimally damped by the outer parts of the body. The sides and tail of the body are hollowed out providing a sweet woody modulation to the tone that enhances both clean and crunchy tones. This is the most sophisticated standard design in the Rees guitar range.
The body is stained by rubbing by hand, which brings out the full beauty of the fine wood figuring, rather than by spraying which would obscure the wood grain. The body is finished in satin nitrocellulose lacquer to provide best resonance and tone. The neck is finished in high-tech polymer lacquer for durability, with a fast action satin finish to the back of the neck. A choice of body colours is available: natural blonde; tobacco 3-tone sunburst; vintage cherry sunburst; burgundy sunburst; amber sunburst (as pictured); lemon sunburst.
