Rees introduces Rambler Travel electric guitar

This guitar has been designed for serious gigging and practicing while traveling light. It is small enough to be always carried onto aeroplanes, and stored in the overhead locker reliably. However the neck is a full size 25.5 inch scale, and every component of the guitar is built to the same high standard as all other Rees guitars. Playing this guitar feels like playing a normal sized top quality instrument, but is actually more comfortable due to the smaller size and weight, and fine balance. The body of korina hardwood is finished in scratch tolerant silk nitrocellulose lacquer to optimize tone. The upper horn is long to make the guitar hang comfortably on a strap with good balance . The body shape has a conventional hip so that it is comfortable to play sitting down. The bridge and controls are recessed to make them less likely to get knocked in transit. The simple strong controls are mounted on a metal plate for strength. The neck is made of maple for strength and stability, with a side adjustable double truss rod for stiffness, and a pau ferro fretboard.

A wrap-around bridge provides long sustain and rich woody tone. The Seymour Duncan vintage P90 pickups have a distinctive classic tone, respond dramatically to picking style and technique, and are suitable for a wide range of music styles. The guitar works in the normal way with a large amplifier and speakers on stage, or works perfectly with new battery powered micro amps and headphones. The Fender LSR roller nut works with any thickness strings without adjustment, which can be useful in emergency when travelling. Simple robust controls were chosen: a volume control for each pickup, and a master tone control. This avoids the use of a more fragile pickup selector switch, and allows subtle blends of the two pickups.
