Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid Collection
Shecter unveils the Hellraiser Hybrid Collection, guitars that fuse the best features of their Hellraiser and SLS models.
Schecter TSH-1 Classic
The collection will feature 5 models: two six string electrics C-1 and C-1 FR, the 7-string C-7 model and the 8-string C-8. Left hand versions of all the models will also be available.
The Hellraiser Hybrid guitars will carry the most sought after features of two popular Schecter models, providing playability, visuals and sounds that target high-gain metal players.
The Hellraiser's highly figured maple top is retained in the Hybrid, albeit with a more aggressive arch. It is then set on top of a mahogany body that features better upper fret access via the modified cutaway. All the HH guitar models will be finished in high gloss transparent black burst, in keeping with the dark theme of the guitar's name.
The neck comes as expected, featuring a thin and easy to play profile with a satin finish. It is paired with a compound radius ebony fingerboard that features inverted dot pattern inlays, which switch to the other side at the 15th fret. Modern carbon fiber was used for the binding, while the side dots of the frets glow in the dark, allowing for easy visualization of the frets even in dark venues.
A metal cross that looks like the one found on the original Hellraiser model is highlighted at the 12th fret. The color, shape and visuals all join together to give the 2014 Hellraiser Hybrids what Shecter describes as the "class-metal look".
For the pickups, Schecter gave in to their fans' request of utilizing EMG 57 and 66 humbuckers. These high-gain friendly pickups are then covered by a brushed black metal-works cover. The HH C7 and C8 models feature USA-made Hipshot non-trem bridges, a versatile setup ideal for progressive playing styles.
The initial release of the Hybrid Collection will include the following guitars (also included are the street price of each model for your convenience):
C-1 FR: $999
Tempest : $899
More information about the Hellraiser Hybrid collection will soon be available.
