Taylor solid body electric guitars 'feel alive'

Taylor is psyched about the pending release of their first solid body electric guitars. Designed from the ground up by Bob Taylor, three versions of the solid body will be available.

"We’re talking original new pickups, a sleek all-aluminum bridge, fresh body design, proprietary neck-to-body construction, unique switching capabilities — the list goes on and on. Taylor’s innovative imprints are all over this guitar" it says on the Taylor website.

Want to play one? Get to one of the Taylor Road Shows this fall. To find out where they're headed, check our Road Show calendar here. Plus, you can catch a glimpse at all three remaining Premier Guitar Festival events in 2007, in Boston (September 15-16), Washington DC (November 17-18), and New Jersey (December 8-9). Taylor Regional Sales Manager Andy Lund will also be in Missouri with some solid bodies in mid-September, for a pair of guerrilla-style electric guitar events:

Saturday, September 15, 11a.m.
Fazio’s Frets and Friends
St. Louis, Missouri

Saturday, September 22, 11 a.m.
Springfield Music
Springfield, Missouri

Taylor solid body guitars will launch January of 2008, with a limited pre-launch release in select dealer locations starting this fall.

Got to be one of the first to play these new solidbodies last night at the Roadshow in Sacramento. Beautiful guitars with Taylor playability. A bit of a cross between a Les and a PRS without the weight of a PRS. Folks were pretty psyched to play these guitars. Word was $1200, $1800 and $2300 street for the three models. They don't have any option lists yet but will by the official launch in January. Certainly a new high end solidbody worth checking out if you are in the market...

I have also had the chance to play these guitars and I am simply amazed and can’t wait for them to be released. Totally original design; not “______ designed pickups” or “_____ designed bridge”, it’s all Taylor! Wow!
