Washburn N4CV Nuno Bettencourt Signature
Washburn introduces the Nuno Bettencourt Signature N4CV, supercharged with carbon fiber fretboard!
Washburn Parallaxe Solar
This new guitar features the same Stephen's Extended Cutaway, reverse headstock and Floyd Rose bridge as the N4, but with modern and reliable stainless steel frets and carbon glass epoxy fingerboard.
The Nuno Bettencourt N4 continues to be among the most popular model in the Washburn's stable, so it is not surprising that the brand continues to expand the line. Bettencourt's experience and extensive knowledge of the guitar helped designed each model, including the new N4CV.
The alder body of this guitar features the same modified super-strat shape of the N4. Access to higher frets is made easy thanks to the implementation of 5-Bolt Stephen's Extended Cutaway design.
The neck is made of Birdseye maple and is carved into a shape that satisfies Nuno's need for speed. It has a scale length of 25.5" and a nut width of 1.693". Unique to this model is the use of Carbon Glass Epoxy or Carbon Fiber based fretboard in conjunction with stainless steel frets. According to the official press release, "The 22 stainless steel frets are silky smooth and will last the life of the owner without needing replacement. The carbon fiber fretboard is extremely fast and slippery so bends and dives never bind your fingers."
To get Bettencourt approved tones, Washburn equipped the N4CV with a Seymour Duncan '59 neck pickup and a Bill Lawrence L-500 bridge pick-up. This dual humbucker configuration allows for vintage tones on the neck pickup, while the bridge pickup handles modern tones. A stripped down set of controls is provided, including a 3-way pickup selector and a master volume knob.
The guitar features Floyd Rose bridge & locking nut system, Grover Exclusive 18:1 tuners and Buzz Feiten Tuning System - these ensure intonation and tuning stability without sacrificing modern expressive playing.
The N4CV is made in the Washburn USA Custom Shop and comes with a vintage matte finish and a Washburn GCN4 hardshell case. It retails for $3,999.90. You can visit Washburn for more information.
