Aguilar AG 4P/J-HC Precision/Jazz Bass Pickups
Aguilar Amplification introduces their new Precision/Jazz Bass Pickup set, the AG 4P/J-HC hum-cancelling pickups.
This pickup set is specially matched, and brings together Aguilar's AG 4P-60 P-Bass pickup and the recently released AG 4J-HC bridge pickup.
According to Aguilar, many Precision and Jazz bass pickup sets are sonically mismatched, usually having a neck pickup that is too deep and unjustly paired with a tiny sounding bridge pickup. So they thought of designing a bass pickup set that works perfectly with each other.
Unlike those mismatched pickups, the AG 4P/J-HC is designed to be well-balanced, giving you a variety of tones that have consistency and continuity. Whether using each pickup by itself or combining both, the tones don't sound too far off from each other while still retaining flexibility.
Since the AG 4P/J-HC are hum-cancelling pickups you get the thunderous lows of the neck pickup or the midrange cut of the bridge – or both - without the nasty 60 cycle hum found on traditional P-Bass and J-Bass pickups.
Like all Aguilar pickups, the AG 4P/J-HC sets are created and wound in Aguilar’s NYC factory. This new pickup set is designed to be a direct replacement for 4-string Fender P-Bass and Jazz bridge pickups. To achieve a bigger and more dynamic tone, the pickups use 42 gauge Formvar wire and Alnico V magnets.
The Aguilar AG 4P/J-HC pickups are expected to be available this coming December 1st, 2012. You can get the complete specifications and dimensions of this new pickup set by visiting Aguilar Amplification.

When you consider how much time and effort you put into getting your rig to sound just the way you want, it makes sense to ensure your guitar cables are also up to the job - after all they're an important part of the tone chain. Also remember that occasionally things will go wrong, so always carry at least one spare cable to gigs and rehearsals.
