This new tremolo system are easy to setup and offers improved intonation, bigger saddles and comes with a Drop D tuning ability.
If you have owned or at least re-stringed a Floyd Rose equipped guitar, then you can relate to the inconvenience and issues that it brings. Alex Smith, inventor of AxMax Tremolo, decided that there should be a simple solution to these complicated problems. This was the basis of the design used on his new tremolo system.
Reliability is the first issue that Alex tried to tackle. To face it head on, his new bridge system features a thicker solid brass construction. This means that the bridge will last longer than the the typical bridge, even when regularly used. Rust and maintenance related issues are also addressed by utilizing stainless steel components.
Because it follows the shape of a standard Floyd Rose, swapping your bridge will not require any additional routing. This makes it easily compatible with Floyd Rose equipped guitars.
Stringing and tuning a Floyd equipped guitar usually takes a lot of time and patience. The AxMax Tremolo deals with this issue by allowing the ball end of the strings to anchor into the body of the bridge. The strings then pull the intonation blocks in place, making it easier to do intonation adjustments. The V-notched thumbscrews also help simplify the setup and tuning process.
Since the bridge is made of brass, it improves your guitar's sustain and overall tone. Rounding off the bridge's features is easy Drop-D tuning which can be found on more expensive floating bridge systems. In summary, the AxMax Tremolo is designed to do the work of a regular Floyd Rose without any design inherent problems.
The AxMax Tremolo is currently available in Brass or Black Brass, and has an introductory price of $229. Visit AxMax Tremolo for more information.
