Bigrock Power Pins

Bigrock Engineering introduces Power Pins, a unique none-intrusive bridge pin system that simplifies stringing and tuning.

Bigrock Power Pins

It is designed to be a bridge pin add-on that will help improve tone and volume, while protecting your bridge hardware.

While electric guitars have a variety of bridge hardware available, acoustic guitars are stuck with traditional bridge assemblies, so it is exciting to see a new bridge system that aims to improve on existing hardware.

This unique bridge pin contraption features Bigrock's patent pending SLIDE INSM stringing system, which makes it easier to string and tune, while protecting the bridge assembly from string and ball end contact damage. The strings are secured horizontally and have a shallower breaking angle, this improves string coupling with the bridge that in turn helps improve tone.

To back their claim of improved tone and volume, Bigrock Engineering conducted an experiment comparing plastic standard bridge pins against the Power Pin system. They tested it using a Martin J-40 and a Yamaha Compress CPX-5, and posted the resulting spectrographic charts and recorded audio on their website. The assembly shows some considerable improvement compared to the typical plastic pins.

Since we all love our acoustics to stay the way they are, Bigrock designed the Power Pins to be installed easily without the need for drilling or any other destructive modifications to your existing bridge assembly. Its unique design also allows for quick restringing and tuning, without having to adjust the bridge assembly.

Another cool advantage of having Power Pins is that it protects your bridge assembly from the wear and tear induced by the pins, string, and ball end on the bridge itself. It saves you valuable setup time and at the same time saves you from spending on future bridge repair costs, which are inevitable with regular acoustic bridge assemblies.

The Bigrock Power Pins is now available with a price tag of $59.95. For more information about this unique bridge add-on, you can visit F1pick.
