Korg Pitchcrow

This clip-on tuner is meant to handle both guitar and bass, with switchable dedicated modes for the two instruments that are designed to be easy to use even for beginners.

While the interface is intuitive and newbie friendly, the tuning capability of PitchCrow-G is meant to satisfy professional studio requirements, with tuning accuracy of up to ±0.1 cents. While tuning in Guitar or Bass mode, the string number is shown beside the note name, making it easy to tune even for beginners.

This improved accuracy allows for quick and convenient tuning for any situation, easy enough for students to use during practice and lessons, and accurate enough for professionals to use in the studio. It even come with a “first string over winding warning” in the display, which will make you aware if you are stressing the first string too much to avoid unwanted breakage. This means that you won’t have to worry about surprise string breakage when tuning or replacing your 1st string.

On top of its improved interface and tuning accuracy, the actual design of the clip itself is improved, described as being more compact and sleeker. Interestingly, they were able to streamline the tuner while improving the display size by narrowing down the space around the edge. It’s slimmer design and strong ball joint clip mechanism ensures secure attachment, flexible positioning and reliable operation.

Korg Guitar Products Brand Manager Brian Piccolo summarizes, “The PitchCrow-G’ s ±1 cent precision mode is great for quick and smooth tuning and a ‘first string over-winding warning’ appears in the display to prevent string breakage caused by over-winding the thin first string. The most notable change is in the size of the display. Without increasing the size of the meter’s display area, we’ve significantly narrowed the unused space around the edge, resulting in a more compact tuner overall and slimmed-down the thickness of the body. The new clip uses a more efficient and simplistic design, resulting in improved strength and reliability, uncompromised holding power on any type of headstock, and maximum flexibility due to the its unique ball joint.”

The new Korg PitchCrow-G Clip-on Tuner is currently retailing for around $23, and is available in white or black color. For further information, head over to Korg.
