PRS Guitars limited run featuring 1957/2008 Pickups
Paul Reed Smith Guitars has unveiled a limited run of solid body electrics featuring the new 1957/2008 pickups. PRS acquired exclusive rights to the original pickup wire used in the most revered ‘50s era pickups in 2008, and 1957 was the year the humbucker was first commercially available, giving rise to the name for PRS Guitars’ newest and most exclusive pickup.

Three models are offered as part of the 1957/2008 Limited Run, the Custom 24, the McCarty and the SC 245. This special run is limited to 750 guitars, and is the only place outside of Private Stock where brand new old style McCarty models can be purchased. The newly released Modern Eagle II and the Al Di Meola Prism are presently the only models that come standard with 1957/2008 pickups, and the limited run adds three more models for PRS customers in need of the 1957/2008 sound to choose from.

Amazing the 1957/2008 pickups. I played the Al Di Meola Prism with those pickups recently at Guitar Center in Hollywood using different Amps and WOW, what beautiful sound. Just gorgeous in tone and what a beautiful guitar in terms of feel, color and weight. I'm buying a Prism this week. 1957/2008 pickups are AWESOME.
