Schertler Magnetico Pickups
Schertler introduces Magnetico, a pickup that utilizes a unique design featuring active multiple coil technology.
This new pickup is completely different from conventional single coil and humbucker pickups, featuring proprietary electronics.
Magnetico is designed for fretted instruments, and its unique circuitry gives it fast transient behavior, flat frequency response and improved transparency.
The Magnetico pickup range comes in four series, the first of which is the A-Series for use with acoustic guitars, mandolins and banjos. The R-Series is meant for replacing your existing single coil or humbucker pickups on popular guitars that uses the Fender and Gibson shapes. Finally, the S-Series is a custom pickup for build-in applications.
The first to be released will be the A-Series AG6, this compact pickup designed for fitting into the soundhole of acoustic guitars will be released at Frankfurt's Musikmesse. Unique to this pickup is its external input, designed for connecting a second pickup. This allows for two pickups to be blended for even more tonal options. The AG6 System is also flexible for used either as a fixed installation or for use as a temporary pickup.
Schertler will also be offering two new microphones for use with the AG6 - an electrodynamic moving coil contact microphone and an external condenser mic. These various options offer guitarists a choice of six different packages to suit a range of requirements.
Drago Dujak, Schertler’s International Sales Manager, said: “Magnetico offers a new sound in the magnetic pickup panorama. The series differs from our other pickup ranges by combining a new technological approach with specially developed electronics. The sound really has to be heard to be believed and we are very excited about introducing the various Magnetico models into the market.”
Schertler will be at Musikmesse 2013 Hall 3.1 Stand F85. Aside from the A-Series pickups, they will also be exhibiting Magnetico E-Series pickups at the show. Other products that will be on show include a full range of Schertler contact microphones and acoustic amplifiers, including the recently released, single-channel, compact Guilia amp.
