Seymour Duncan Pegasus 7 & 8 String Bridge Pickup

Seymour Duncan announces the availability of their latest humbucking pickup for 7 & 8 String guitars, the Pegasus 7 & 8.

Seymour Duncan Pegasus

This modern sounding pickup for metal players is a contrasting follow up their classic sounding Whole Lotta Humbucker, which was recently released.

This bridge humbucker is fine tuned for modern shredders that prefer moderate output over the typical high output pickups. It provides tones that are ideal for progressive and metal music.

Instead of the typical active pickups used for metal, Seymour Duncan decided to go the passive route for the Pegasus. This results in a pickup that is more sensitive to harmonics and dynamics, plus has better string separation compared to high output active pickups, while being hot enough for high-gain enthusiasts to appreciate.

The pickup is created in response to the requests of seven and eight string players that want a pickup that is not excessively high-gain. The Pegasus pickup’s moderate gain makes it an ideal match to modern high-gain capable amplifiers, it holds back its edge to bring in some warmth to your high gain tone.

Seymour Duncan is making the Pegasus available in standard passive 7/8 (naked coil) string sizing and can also fit into an active mount (soapbar) for guitars that came with active pickups by default.
