Gibson & others join Summer NAMM 2011 at Last Minute

We told you Gibson wouldn’t be going to Summer NAMM 2011, but we were wrong.

Well, actually we were right, until a few hours ago that is.

In what appeared to be a case of Ambush Marketing, Gibson had decided to run their own event called Summer Jam on Saturday (one of the most important NAMM days) just down the road from Summer NAMM in Nashville, instead of attending themselves.

However in a surprising announcement published on the NAMM website the day before Summer NAMM was due to open it’s doors, NAMM say Gibson will be attending after all.

The announcement also says Bluesman Vintage, Frendz Microphones, Harman International, and Prentice Practice Pads have also made last minute decisions to attend.

According to the latest update of thhe Summer NAMM interactive floor plan, Gibson have taken booth #410 – and as I write this I’m guessing there are quite a few people from Gibson working through the night to be ready when the doors open at 10am.
