Balatonfured Guitar Fest attempts to break world's longest concert record
This year the Balatonfured International Guitar Festival (Hungary) will take a shot at becoming the Guinness World Record holder for the 'The World’s Longest Concert.' The concert will run for 8 days (192 hours) on the open-air Pier stage. The current record is 184 hours, achieved by Kuniko Teramura and friends at Toriimoto station in Hikone, Shiga, Japan. Prior to this, Canada had achieved 181 hours of continuous playing.
Both amateur and professional musicians will participate in this record attempt without any restriction on styles.
The program, sponsored by UPC, will be broadcast live on the internet between the 23rd of June and 1st of July.
"Everybody over the World can listen and see this great event on our site, at www.balaton-guitar.com between 23rd of June 15:00 and the 1st of July 15:00" the concert organizers said.
