Gibson Explorer played by the Edge sells for $130,000

The Icons of Music II Auction recently took place on the 30th of May. The auction was benefitting Music Rising, a campaign co-founded by U2's the Edge, Bob Ezrin and Gibson Guitar Chairman and CEO Henry Juszkiewicz as an effort to replace the musical instruments lost or destroyed in the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

The Icons of Music II Auction event produced by Juliens Auctions raised much needed funds for a region of the United States still suffering from the hurricanes in 2005. Along with U2's the Edge, four-time Grammy winner Aaron Neville performed to the sold out crowd and celebrities including Les Paul, Joan Jett, Lisa Loeb, Patti Smith, Tiki Barber and many others attended the evening session where highlights included a Baldwin Piano signd by Jerry Lee Lewis sold for $80,000 and a Gibson Explorer played by the Edge sold for $130,000.
