In 1994, in Vancouver, Canada, 1,322 guitarists gathered to play the world-famous Smoke on the Water riff all at the same time for a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. On Sunday June 3rd, 2007, Kansas City radio station, 99.7 KY plans to attempt to beat this record.

– 10:00am-noon KY's Hippo House Band performs
– 11:00am – begin on-field line up
– 12:00pm – final call to field & line up
– 12:30pm – World Record attempt(s)
– 1:30pm – park cleared & cleaned
– Rain date: June 24th

Ya was alot of fun and it sounded better than I even hoped it would. I will remember this forever. Ya we did it and beat it by a long way!
Well that is why they asked everyone to be at the field early. I was there and it was great. I took my ten year old son with me and it will be something he will remember forever im sure. It was alot of fun….and yep we did it.
Ya, I agree. I thought the attempt would be at 12:30 and barely made it. No less, we broke the record!
Why on earth did they say the World Record Attempt would be at 12:30, and then do it at 12:15?? A lot of people missed it!!!
