Ovation Launches Acoustic Guitar Lessons

Ovation Guitars have launched a new Acoustic Guitar Lessons area on their website.

If you’re not familiar with Ovation, they make some excellent mid price range acoustics, and they have quite a unique body shape which makes most of their models instantly identifiable – in fact their Ovation iDea made it into our Best Acoustic Guitars list last year.

I’ve had a bit of a look at Ovation’s new lessons, and my first impressions are that there are some good tips in there, although the sound quality varies a bit – probably due to the fact that most of the lessons seem to be recorded at people’s homes rather than in a studio environment.

The lessons include how to play specific songs, but the ones I like best are the videos that teach specific acoustic guitar techniques.

When you first go to the web page, you’ll see lessons and tips on subjects such as Basic Fingerpicking, Suspended Chords, Alternate Tunings, Droning, Open Chords, and much more.

In the following sample lesson Ernie Jackson shows us the basics of the Chromatic Octave Fingerstyle method:
