Orange Amps’ Music Aid for Joplin Auction raised $10,000 to help Glory Days Music Store owner Dave Peterson after a devastating tornado hit Joplin last May.

Dave Peterson is also one of the many that lost their homes in the havoc. The tornadoes flattened nearly half of Joplin, Missouri, in one of the severest tornado season to hit the USA in fifty years.

After seeing the devastation on the news, British amplifier maker Orange Amplification, together with other manufacturers and distributors within the music industry, has joined forces to hold a special auction to aid Glory Days Music, and is to be hosted by the Fame Bureau in the UK. Contributors inclued Jim Dunlop, Intel, Aria, Guitar World Magazine, Yamaha, Taylor Guitars, Seymour Duncan, Sabian Cymbals and Orange’s endorsed artists Geddy Lee (Rush), Mastodon, Theory of a Deadman, and many more.

Grigg Haws, Orange Amps’ Midwest Sales Representative, presented Dave Peterson and his brother Ben with the $10,000 that was raised. Dave was thankful and overwhelmed by the generosity and he was quoted saying “Our business of 15 years suddenly gone, our home gone, two cars gone, we are lucky to be alive. We left the EF5 disaster scene with only the clothes on our back. The Orange Amplification family and others went beyond their normal daily duties and gave my family huge hope! The generous auction money donated to us has been used to provide for our families daily living needs. God bless all at Orange Amps and the other companies in the music industry that have contributed.”

It is great to see the music industry joining together lending a hand to help people cope in difficult times such as this.
