Volkswagen went ahead with the production of the Beetle Fender Edition, based on the concept car displayed at the Frankfurt Int’l Auto Show in 2011.

Production units are set to make their world debut at the Leipzig International Auto Show and they are set for a Fall 2012 release in the United States.

Due to the favorable response by car lovers and musicians to the Beetle Fender concept car in 2011, VW partnered with Fender to finalize the production model of the Beetle Fender Edition.

The combination of these two big brands resulted in a Beetle that incorporates key attributes of Fender instruments along with the Fender Premium Audio system. This car tries to reproduce the same passion, creativity and attitude found in Fender’s iconic guitars.

The interior of the car has a distinct Fender touch, with a painted dashboard that features the popular sunburst finish found on many Fender Instruments. Everything else is accented with color-contrasting seams that complement the dashboard’s color.

Beetle Fender Edition vehicles that come with 200-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder TSI engines will receive seats that have exclusive fabric inserts.

The outside of these Beetles are painted in Deep Black Metallic. It comes with brushed chrome exterior mirrors, 18″ Disc aluminum-alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights and a corresponding Fender Logo. The car’s chrome style mimic the typical chrome hardware found on Fender guitars. All in all, the Beetle Fender tends to look more like the classic Beetle, which I would say is a good thing, and matches the classic look of Fender instruments just as well.

Aside from looks, these Beetles are treated with Fender Premium Audio sound systems. It comes with nine speakers along with a 10-channel amplifier with 400 watts of system power. The speakers is said to utilize a unique technology that lets it cut through noise and other distractions. Its front dual-voice coil speakers mimics the sound of a true live performance stage. A lot of people are impressed with this sound system, one of which is CNET, who awarded the audio system with their “Best-sounding car stereo” award.
