Schecter Custom Shop Pickups

Schecter Guitar research goes back into producing custom wound pickups for 6-string, 7-string and 8-string guitars.

Schecter Custom Shop Pickups

Back in the mid ’70s and early ’80s, Shecter was known for their pickup replacement products, now they are bringing back these old pickups along with newly designed models.

Schecter announced that reproductions of their older ’70s era pickups will soon be available, namely the SuperRock, MonsterTone, Z-Plus and the 500 Series Pickups. These custom-built pickups will be available in standard as well as “Trem” ready spacing, and they are all handwound in Schecter’s Sun Valley Facility.

With John Gaudesi and Kevin Hair joining their team, Schecter now has the resources to pursue new pickup designs. In line with this, Schecter announced three new custom pickups – a medium output humbucker called “Pasadena”, a slightly hotter ceramic-based pickup called “Sunset Strip”, and a high-output overwound pickup called “San Andreas”.

At the time of this writing, pickup model specifications and individual pricing are not yet online. More information will soon be available at Schecter Guitars.

I’ve got an old strat with what I believe are monstertone tapped pickups. They have the large pole pieces and a ceramic bar magnet underneath. The tone control is a pull-pot that selects the tapped or untapped mode. I originally had an original schecter assembly with 500t pickups and three seperate switches, one for each pickup.
Which tapped single coil pickups do you intend to make, and when will they be available?
    Thanks
