Ibanez Electric Guitar Book

It tells the stories behind the instruments that helped propel the brand's popularity worldwide, from its origins to the present models.

The author, Tony Bacon, captures the reader's attention right after the first paragraph by asking "How on earth were they going to sell all these mad-looking guitars? Would they prompt Ibanez’s final plunge into guitar-making oblivion?". We now know that these original designs from Ibanez proved to be successful, the book shows in detail how all these electric guitar designs came to be.

The book will lead readers systematically from the early years of Ibanez to the modern electric guitars that they offer. Part of the story shows how Ibanez, like many fledgling guitar manufacturers, started out by produced cheap and basic knock-off guitars based on popular designs by Gibson and Fender. It then shows how Ibanez moved up the ladder, and how their original designs became a hit, thanks to their great eye for signing up amazing guitarists like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

One of the main stories of the book is how the development of Vai's Jem guitars helped propel the Ibanez electric guitar brand to its current status. It also highlighted the story of the RG series and how it went on to be one of their most popular instruments. The book also mentions how Ibanez was able to branch out into various styles that cover jazz, pop, metal and rock. It shares all the interesting bits that the Japanese manufacturer went through to get to where it is now.

Adding credibility to the book are exclusive interviews with some of the top endorsers of Ibanez, including George Benson, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Mick Thompson and many more. The author guarantees that all the stories are thoroughly researched and the book provides a useful reference section that shows the details and specifications of all the electric guitars made by Ibanez.

Giving the book its visual flavor is an image gallery that shows virtually every Ibanez model ever built, along with vintage posters of famous players. The Ibanez Electric Guitar Book aims to be a treasure for guitar enthusiasts, specifically targeting the hordes of Ibanez wielding guitarists.

The book is currently retailing for $24.99, and is available for purchase from Hal Leonard or you can order the paperback edition for $14.75 at Amazon.com.

I am a huge fan of Ibanez --

I am a huge fan of Ibanez -- mainly because I am a huge fan of Vai. This book will be interesting to read. I have a few books like this about PRS guitars. I'm excited to get my hands on this one. Thanks for the post!
