New web tool tracks guitar sales on eBay

A new web based tool from eBay research company Teraspeak lets users see what guitar brands have sold on eBay, their total sales, and their average cost. At the moment it's pretty simple and it only looks at guitars from five companies: Martin, Gibson, Yamaha, Washburn and Fender, but hopefully that will change in the future.

Stats show that:

- Most acoustic guitars sold are Martin or Fender

- Most electric guitars sold are Fender or Gibson

- Gibson electric guitars have the highest average price: $624.

- Gibson acoustic guitars also have the highest average price: $770.
