This week's featured products at zZounds include a few tasty guitar and bass options designed to expand the spectrum of your tonal palette:
Boss RC-20XL Loop Station Pedal
The newest iteration of Boss's Loop Station, RC20XL loop pedals improve markedly on their predecessors, offering, among other things, an unparalleled 16 minutes of recording time and a much-requested Undo function. This is an indispensable writing tool for guitarists: build leads over a rhythm part, construct a song under a leading melody, or go all out to create your own soundscape. The aforementioned Undo function does its part to help you untangle any unintended mess of guitar lines. RC20XL loop pedals also allow up to 11 loops to be stored. Additionally, the Loop Station includes a built-in auto quantizing function, to make your loops as exacting as you demand, and can change tempo without changing pitch, giving you total flexibility for both songwriting and on-stage performance.
Fender Classic Series 70s Jazz Electric Bass
Above all else, Fender has great respect for their history, and you can see their reverence for the originals in the Classic Series 70s Jazz Bass. This modern take on the classic Fender basses features block inlays and fingerboard binding, just as in the heady days of the 70s. It's not all cosmetic, though. The 70s were also when Fender moved the bridge pickup closer to the bridge, giving the Jazz bass a brighter sort of bite signature to its sound at the time. This era's Jazz also featured an offset waist and an ultra-thin neck for fast playing action. With two vintage style AlNiCo pickups, It's an ideal bass for funk or rock work.
