Eric Johnson Signature Fuzz Face by Dunlop

The Eric Johnson Signature Fuzz Face is a vintage style fuzz pedal built to produce creamy fuzz tones to the exacting specs of EJ himself.

Eric Johnson Signature Fuzz Face

Dunlop's resident Fuzz Face guru - Jeorge Tripps worked with the ultimate tone connoisseur - Eric Johnson, to create this new signature pedal, based on EJ's collection of vintage '60s Fuzz Faces.

When you talk about electric guitar tone, the name of Eric Johnson will almost always come up and for good reason - his sweet singing lead tones. Old, expensive and temperamental Fuzz Faces are required to achieve his violin like tone, and this has been the way it is for decades. Inspired by these old fuzzes, Dunlop worked with EJ, to make replicas that will satisfy his demanding ear for great tone and have modern consistency.

The EJ Signature Fuzz Face features hand-selected BC183 silicon transistors for higher gain, custom repro' '68-'69 knobs and a vintage style hammertone finish. It has a very straightforward layout with two knobs that control the volume and the amount of fuzz. What results is a great looking pedal with the tone master's sign of approval. EJ is quoted saying: "It is as close as I’ve ever heard to the originals."

Here is a short video interview with the tone and guitar master himself as he talks about his new signature fuzz face:

Dunlop is now shipping the Eric Johnson Signature Fuzz Face, I saw it retailing for $199.99 at Sweetwater.
