Thisl expands the company’s looper pedal lineup, giving you flexible control over two uncompressed audio tracks and modern versatility packed in the usual tank tough exterior expected from Electro-Harmonix.

The EHX 22500 Dual Stereo Looper is a compact and more pedalboard friendly version of their 45000 looper, which retains the same mixer like appearance but with more knobs and footswitches for handsfree control.

A notable feature of this pedal is the ability to play two recorded tracks in parallel or series, which you can toggle in real time. This will let you build your sonic textures with more control over the details as well as disengage a loop when no longer needed. This allows for more harmony and rhythm possibilities that can be changed in realtime to accommodate every section of your song. And with up to 12 hours of recording via the supplied 8GB SD card, the looping possibilities that you can do with this pedal is quite staggering.

Because of its mixer like appearance, the 22500’s user interface is easy to understand and use. This includes the main Loop A and Loop B footswitches that let you engage recording and toggle between playback and overdubbing for each loop. You can then set it to stop with either a single tap or double tap to stop. A third footswitch is also available and allows for customization of the pedal. You can program it to function as Tap Tempo, Rhythm start/stop switch or a master stop.

The two tracks on the pedal feature independent controls that literally give you 2-in-1 functionality. Each loop track feature individual level knobs so you can blend the volume of your loops to taste and they also come with independent octave and reverse buttons for out of this world looping possibilities.

To help you keep track of your realtime music production process, the pedal comes with three loop status LEDs that include Record, Memory and Playback. There is a multifunction Mode knob that lets you access up to 100 loop banks. You can also use it to control rhythm options and advanced operation functions that include switching between rhythm Quantized or Free Form looping, Series or Parallel looping and many more.

Other control features include the Input Gain knob which lets you adjust the input signal level, and a Rhythm button that engages the built-in drum loops. This turns the 22500 into a useful practice tool on top of its looper duties.

EHX has this to say regarding the pedal’s connectivity and compatibility: “The 22500 is completely stereo/mono capable. The Left/Mono Input is switchable between ¼” and XLR MIC inputs with selectable phantom power and a separate microphone gain knob. SDHC memory card slot supports 4GB to 32GB cards. The included 8GB memory card holds up to 12 hours of total recording time. Included USB port enables backup/restore to a PC or MAC. An optional Bank-Up/Bank-Down Foot Controller is available for increased onstage ease (sold separately)”.

Finally, the new EHX 22500 Dual Stereo Looper has a rugged die-cast exterior and is bundled with a 9.6-Volt/DC200mA AC adapter. The U.S. list price for this pedal is $359.97. Should you need more control, you can purchase the 22500 optional foot controller (which is powered by the main pedal) for $117.15.
