Line 6 introduces a new multi-effects guitar processor that will combine modern wireless control convenience with their HD modeling technology, the Firehawk FX.

This new floorboard multi-effects unit is described as the amalgamation of the company’s best pedals, carrying tones and presets from their POD XT, POD HD and POD Farm line of products.
This is a surprising new release from the company because it hasn’t even been long since they launched the AMPLIFi FX100 multi-effect unit.
Based on the description, the main difference is that the new Firehawk FX carries 50 HD models derived from their popular POD HD Series. Although it was not specifically mentioned, this may replace their flagship multi-effects pedal line further down the line, well depending on how it performs in the market.

It’s like a greatest hits pedal that delivers legendary all-star performance along with incredible ease of use.”
With over 200 effects and amp models, this pedal will give you a wide array of tones to choose from. It starts by providing a model version of a wide array of amp types, from vintage classics to modern high-gain tube amps, and this includes the 50 HD models that helped put the Line 6 POD HD pedals on the spotlight. It also comes with essential modeled stompboxes, rack type studio effects and even digitized version of original pedal designs from Line 6.
Another important new feature of the Firehawk FX is its wireless connectivity with iOS and Android devices. This allows for convenient wireless control over the unit via your smart phone or tablet. All you have to do is download the free Firehawk Remote app which is available for iOS and Android devices, and you can start editing the pedal without having to be tethered to it. With this you can conveniently load default or downloaded presets, create your own personalized sounds, or share your virtual rigs to other Line 6 cloud users from all over the world. The online sharing feature will expand the tonal capabilities of this pedal immensely.
The wireless editing feature combined with traditional footswitches, buttons and knobs will provide a convenient way of controlling your effect on stage or in the studio, and all changes can be done in real time. The footswitches on the pedal come with colored LED rings that make them easy to spot even in dark spaces, and it comes with an onboard expression pedal for realtime foot control over your amp or effect settings.
Other features of the pedal include 1/4″ and Variax Digital (VDI) inputs, two outputs, FX loop, and low-latency USB connectivity for direct recording. And the pedal is housed in the usual tank tough exterior that you’ve come to expect from Line 6.
