“Roverdrive” and “Seq & Destroy” by Marrs Pedals

Marrs Pedals releases two new effects, the “Roverdrive” overdrive pedal and the “Seq & Destroy” sequence tremolo.

Marrs Roverdrive

The multi-faceted overdrive and a cool beat-matching tremolo pedal expand the army of handmade stompbox units from Marrs pedals.

On the surface, this new overdrive from Marrs is deceptively simple and easy to operate, however this two knob stompbox is designed to cover a variety of gain tones.

By tweaking the Dirt knob, you can get anything from subtle to over-the-top crunch. At lower settings, it behaves like a mild dynamic overdrive that cleans nicely when you play light and breaks up when you play harder. As you raise the Dirt knob, the signal becomes more compressed and goes into fuzz territory with a characteristic mid-range bite as heard from the demo video. The volume knob lets you control how hard you want to push your amplifier.

Seq & Destroy

The Marrs Seq and Destroy pedal is a unique sequence tremolo that also works as a keyed gate. This pedal analyzes the beats from external audio sources and syncs the tremolo effect, allowing for effects that groove with the beat.

To follow the beat, the pedal analyzes audio that is abundant in the 200Hz or lower range like the kick drum and sometimes snare – and it ignores anything above it. You can connect various types of audio sources to control the pedal, it works with mp3 players, drum machines, cassette players, drum kit triggers, computer audio, drum monitor out and many more. The “Seq Input Level” knob lets you adjust the waveform of the external source, you can set it to subtly follow the beat or completely go in sync. This gates the amount of signal the Seq and Destroy is fed and can give you tight and choppy to downright irregular and angular waveforms. Other controls include depth and volume, for fine tuning the sound.

The Marrs Seq and Destroy pedal is now available for $292, while the pricing for the Roverdrive is not yet available at this time. For more information, you can visit Marrs Pedals.
