TC Electronic introduces the Transition Delay Pedal, a special Guitar Center exclusive version of the TonePrint capable Flashback Delay.
It is a repackaged version of the Flashback Delay, having all its features while sporting a new look and carrying four exclusive TonePrints.
Barry Mitchell, Director of Merchandise from Guitar Center, teamed up with TC Electronic last year to produce a series of TonePrints for some of their pedals. These TonePrints became a hit with many guitar players which prompted TC Electronic to create the Transition Delay Pedal, a dedicated pedal for Barry to put his unique TonePrints into.
On the flipside, these exclusive TonePrints have caused some TC Electronic users to complain, saying that exclusive presets devalues the original TonePrint pedals, all these presets should be available to all users. There are even some users who are not satisfied with the artist/professional created patches – they are requesting for TC Electronic to release the “TonePrint Editor” software so that they can further personalize their TonePrint capable pedals. Up to now, only artists and profesisonals like Barry Mitchell have access to the said software.

Barry was given access to the TonePrint editor and dialed in four sounds that are only available on the Transition Delay. The first TonePrint is called “Evo”, it is a tribute to the TC 2290 delay unit. The second patch is called “Faty”, an impressive fat sounding analog delay, while the third one is called “Duct”, emulating classic tape delay sounds from units that were made in the ’60s. Finally, the fourth custom TonePrint is “Morf”, producing tape delay sounds with a touch of modulation.
The Transition Delay pedal comes with 11 delay types which include a looper functionality. It features audio tapping, stereo I/O and can handle up to 7 seconds of delay. Check out how the Guitar Center Transition delay video demo:
