IK Multimedia has updated AmpliTube to version 3.7 and welcomes two new certified amps from Jet City Amplification, two new mics and two new high gain amps.
The new version of AmpliTube 3 includes two new officially certified amps from Jet City amplification namely the JCA100H and the JCA20H amp heads. They also added two new high gain amps, a new cabinet and two new modeled microphones.
The JCA100H amp head is designed by Michael Soldano. It is a dual channel 100-watt head that is all tube and designed for big stage use. This is amp has plenty of headroom. The JCA20H amp head is also designed by Michael Soldano. It is a toned down version of the JCA100H, with a 20-watt single channel all tube head designed for simplicity and transparent tube tone.
New amp models are also available via the AmpliTube Custom Shop. The first one is called German Gain, based on Engl Powerball, a powerful modern high gain amplifier. This is a two channel amp with each channel having two different modes for tone flexibility.
The other high gain amplifier is the HiAmp, based on the popular British tube amp Hiwatt DR103. It has been used in a number of performances and music productions in the ’70s and ’80s and is known for its warmer cleans and crunchy gain tones. For more authentic British gain sound, you can also get the corresponding HiAmp 4×12 cabinet, which is modeled after the Hiwatt 4×12.
The new microphones included are the “Tube VM mic” which is modeled after Brauner VM1, and the “Bottle 563 mic”, modeled after Neumann CMV-563.
The AmpliTube 3.7 update also includes a new Authorization Manager. It will automatically restore all previously purchased AmpliTube products when upgrading and you can now do offline authorization when you are using computers that are not connected to the internet.
Other improvements to AmpliTube includes compatibility with Mac OSX Lion 10.7, a bug fixes for the presets and a fix for the proper use of touch automation in host DAWs. The update is free for all AmpliTube 3 users
