JamUp Lite and JamUp Pro 2.0 Update

Positive Grid updates their iOS guitar apps – JamUp Pro and Jam Up Lite, now with improved performance and presets.

JamUp Pro

The new improvements on version 2.0 include tone sharing, improved presets, bass expansion and a 50% latency improvement among many others.

JamUp Lite comes with 1 essential amp model, and 6 stomp boxes and rack modules. JamUp Pro has heaps more – 6 amp models and 16 rack modules and effects. These will be more than enough to tackle most applications. But if you want surgically precise tones, or you simply want more tones – you can check out the new boutique expansion package. Bass players will also appreciate a bass expansion package dedicated to low frequency audio modeling.

JamUp Lite

JamUp now allows you to share and download any tones online. You can get artist presets like Ola Englund’s or you can the settings that other users are currently into. You can use these presets as they are or you can use them as a good primer in finding your own digital tone. The update provides a 64 slot preset that is easy to manage.

Version 2.0 of JamUp also features improved latency and touch response. Positive Grid claims a 50% improvement compared to the older version, this translates into better user experience and seamless control, especially useful in live situations.

This iOS app comes with its own Phrase sampler, a sound-on-sound loops station for guitar & bass within the app. The update added an undo feature, while retaining its long sampling time, auto quantization, synchronized metronome, auto-start modes, exporting audio as well as copy and pasting.

JamUp Lite

The app is now compatible with Griffin Technology Stompbox footswitch, this will allow you to control JamUp via an external floor pedal. This combination grants you traditional pedalboard functionality – letting you change presets hands-free, without having to step on your precious iPhone or iPad.

You can also use the app using JamUp Plug, Apogee Jam, IK Multimedia iRig, Line 6 Mobile In, Ampkit, Alesis iO Dock and other guitar interfaces.

JamUp Lite 2.0 is currently available for free in the iTunes App Store, while JamUp Pro is currently priced at $9.99.
