Your music in new online Guitar Hero style game?
Looking at taking a break from your guitar? Let me introduce you to JamLegend, it turns your computer keyboard into a virtual electric guitar. You can play two ways; a "chill" mode that looks like you're typing into an Excel spreadsheet (I don't know either) or the "jam" style where you hold your keyboard like a guitar.
NOW what is interesting for those of us who prefer guitar over QWERTY is its artist program where any musician get their tracks listed for others to play. Kind of like having your songs in GuitarHero (just an online version that is sort of similar).
CNET writes:The team at JamLegend takes the track and adds the correct chords, complete with three different levels of difficulty that add more notes to the mix. According to founder Andrew Lee, this process takes about a week and a half to complete (per song), although it can go faster for "good tracks." In return for their music, beneath each track the musician gets links to places where users can purchase their song including iTunes, CDbaby, and MySpace. Each song is also tracked for plays and member high scores.
JamLegend is currently in private beta, but artists interested in getting their music in to it can fill out the form at http://jamlegend.com/
