GUITAR WORLD

IN THIS MONTH'S GUITAR WORLD MAGAZINE ISSUE:

Metals' Men of Mystery, the masked Slipknot grace the cover of the June 2000 Guitar World, a special 3D extravaganza. In addition to the kicking three dimensional imagery, the cover story goes behind the scenes and examines how Des Moines, Iowa produced metal's latest and greatest sensation. The issue also features a 3D JIMI HENDRIX photo gallery, along with the inside scoop of the upcoming 4-CD boxed set. Also in the issue: an exclusive interview Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, and the full story of Powerman 5000. For those whose taste runs a little more towards the old school, we brought together shred pioneer Steve Morse and one of today's kings of the strings John Petrucci for an intense, wide-ranging roundtable interview. Plus: four of the new progressive rock's greatest bands. There's also a feature on P.O.D., Christian rock's hell-raising rock-rap sensations.

The tuneups section of the June issue features a sneak preview of Soulfly's upcoming album, and stories on Eleven, Buckcherry, Stone Roses, Skid Row, Three Doors Down, Crazy Town and Gov't Mule. Plus: reviews of Phish, Humble Pie, Apartment 26, Deep Purple, Michael hedges and Alvin Youngblood Hart. Also, the Ax Museum examines the playing career of the master of the Telecaster, Albert Collins. And in 60 Minutes, Kenny Wayne Shepherd picks the tunes for his ultimate mix tape.

The Soundcheck section features the usual incredible mix of product reviews and in-depth tech columns. Featured products include Hughes& Kettner Triplex, Marshall TSL601 and Yamaha DG60-112 combos, Carr Amplifiers Slant V6 and El Moto, and Mesa/Boogie Subway Reverb Rocket and Rocket 440 combo. Nuts & Bolts examines how speakers work, the Buzz Bin examines the Menatone King of the Britains distortion pedal. Tech Education discusses guitar storage and New Equipment highlights what's new and cool in the world of gear. Star columnists include Kirk Hammett, Marty Friedman and Tom Morello.

Last but not least, the June 2000 Guitar world features the best transcriptions you'll find anywhere, basslines included:
- "Break Stuff" by Limp Bizkit
- "Blind" by Korn
- "Sleep Now in the Fire" by Rage Against the Machine
- "Run to the Water" by Live
- "That Smell" by Lynyrd Skynyrd
