GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 2000 June 23-25, 2000 Featuring: Chemical Brothers, Travis, David Bowie
Musicunsigned.com to sponsor New Bands Stage at Glastonbury Festival 2000 "MusicUnsigned" is creating a number of firsts for this year's Glastonbury Festival. The New Bands Stage, sponsored by the site, will feature two acts selected by the public. The bands will appear live on the stage on Saturday afternoon. For the first time in the history of the festival, the public can play A&R moguls themselves and vote for the acts they want to see from six of Musicunsigned's big names of the future. The competition is being run via the official Glastonbury Festival website - http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/ and new music e-zine, playlouder.com during May and June. You have a chance to influence the final selection – so get voting! Musicunsigned's search for unsigned talent has led to a bizarre sonic experiment in the Greenfields tunnel. World famous sound installation artists Greyworld, recognised for their work during the Millennium celebrations in Greenwich, have been commissioned by Musicunsigned.com to create a freaky sound spectacular where man, woman and child can band together to create inspirational tunes and sounds. All festival-goers can make their own sounds day and night for the first time – it's guaranteed to be a hit! MusicUnsigned is also giving away Minidisc players and 5 pairs of tickets to this year's festival. For your chance to see The Chemical Brothers, Travis, Moby, David Bowie and Reprazent amongst others check out the Glastonbury section on the site: http://www.musicunsigned.com. Winners will also see two of the brightest MusicUnsigned acts of the future on the New Bands Stage alongside Elliott Smith, The Flaming Lips and Rae & Christian. The select artists discovered by the A&R team are exclusively previewed on the MusicUnsigned.com website where anyone in the world can log on and listen to the tracks across a variety of genres.
