HOW TO SOLO
Three quick tips by Jason Stepkoski
There are 3 things to know when trying to learn how to solo.

1. What is the key of the song your playing in?: This is easy to figure out. Whatever the first chord of the song your playing is the key the song is in. I use the main riff to figure this out. That's what I do, you don't have to.

An example of #1 is the song Wild Thing. The main riff is A-D-E,therefore the key is in A.

2. Is it a Major or a Minor?: All songs are in major or minor. It's one of the 2 nothing else. Easily figured out as well. If the first chord is A-Minor its a minor and if it's just a normal A chord it's major.

3. Pick a scale to improvise: If the key is major, pick a major scale. If the key is minor, pick a minor scale. ITS THAT EASY FOLKS. I even wrote a few scales out in a previous lesson,so that should help you get started. Basically just play around with hammerons and bends and such till you get something you like.
