THE BLUES BARN
"We only have one goal here at the barn. The Blues Barn includes lessons with sound clips, backing tracks and links to resources. In the Blues Barn you might find a secret that your guitar teacher may not know... The Blues Barn is absolutely free. Why? Because it is the way the blues was actually handed down for generations. Ever hear the expression that goes somthing like... "Once you start playing with band you really start the learning process" This is especially true for the blues and improvisation. Used to be that when someone wanted to learn the blues they went to an uncle or mother, after building or acquiring a guitar. The mentor would tune it up, usually to an open tuning to make it easier to play rhythm and slide or open chord type country style blues. Besides tuning the guitar, the mentor was also there to provide a backing track to help with hands on instruction. The secret: BACKING TRACKS The Blues Barn has our version; Jammin' Loops. Grab your guitar, come in and jam with the legends! Jam with the legends... Not only will you find Jammin' Loops from popular blues artists like Clapton, BB or Buddy Guy; you'll discover blues artists that you may never of heard of before. You heard of Robert Johnson, right? Well, the Blues Barn has Jammin' Loops from artists of that genre too! Jam with Big Bill Broonzy, Charlie Patton, Leadbelly or maybe some Memphis Minnie. Electric blues like T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters or Howlin' Wolf will be one found in the Barn. Every week we post 5 or more new Jammin' Loops.
