DON'T GIVE UP! by Travis Reitmeier It's very important when dealing with being in a band to remember that bands don't always work out. In the past few years I've been in about 6 bands all of which have fallen through... Now, naturally the human thought process says "Well, if none of my bands can hold together it must be me." This is usually untrue, often you are better than you think you are. Many people get into a band and if they get kicked out or if the band breaks up they quit playing, assuming that they are untalented or just all out bad. Usually there is a combined problem that makes the band not work out, especially in younger bands. Well, almost no one goes through one band, usually they go through several... After going through a few hopefully you can meet up with musicians that share your styles, get along with you, and play well with you and the rest of the band. So basically what I'm saying is that no matter what happens in a band, you're still a musician, you're still talented, and you're playing for you, because you enjoy playing. Don't let a botched band ruin your musical career! [inspiration by Travis Reitmeier] NEXT >>> GROOVY BLUES >>> |
