WIN A TWANGER

The PraxAxTM by TwangerTM is a compact, sturdy, portable practice tool for guitar & bass players. Like a drum pad for drummers, use it to exercise, warm up and practice in situations where it would be impractical to use your usual instrument.

You'll be amazed at how often you can use this little rig, and how much your sound will improve. For guitar & bass players, rhythm hand timing, touch, and endurance are critical. The fret hand may find the right notes, but you need to get them out on time, and with the right feel too. That's the rhythm hand's job. The PraxAx helps you isolate and focus on rhythm hand skills. It's not easy. Inconsistency and imprecision are easy to hear because the strings are short. But that, and its portability are exactly what make the PraxAx so effective... take a look for yourself:

WIN A TWANGER!

As a reader of GNW, over the last couple of weeks, you have all had a chance to win a Twanger of your very own... This offer is exclusive to GNW readers, in conjunction with Ralph at Twanger.com. We've had heaps of entries, so thanks for that.

So who is the lucky winner? Well, if your name is Kimberly and you are from New York, then you're in luck - it's you!

This is what Kimberly says:

I need that Twanger bad! Why? you ask? Because I'm a 34 year old mom whos starting to learn how to play a 4-string Fender bass, and I'm not doing very well! My boyfriend has been playing all of his life, as a matter of fact,..hes a left hander and he takes his guitar and just flips it upside down to play, and no he does not restring it (so that means hes playing upside down and backwards and yes it sounds great!) He also plays the drums, and has been since he was 6 years old. I even saw him play the violin once really well, and he said he had never played one before. Whats even worse, he plays my bass much better than me and thats just not fair! Please help me and let me win that Twanger!

Just send the Twanger (and i don't mean Lyle Lovett)to me! - Kimberly Mitchell of Schenectady, New York, USA

It's on it's way! - Ed

MEET YOUR PICKER

Have you ever wondered why right handers pick with the right hand, since the left hand seems to be the one most learners concentrate on and have the most trouble with? Why not put the difficult stuff into the hand with the most "dexterity", i.e. the dominant hand, i.e. for most of us, the right.

It's the picking hand that makes the sound...
