THE "MOTHER" OF ALL CYBERJAMS!
by Paul Cummins

Dear Readers,

I would like to draw your attention to something that occured as a result of 12 Independent Blues Artists yakkin' away on the blues Genre Bulletin Board at mp3.com. I believe this to be a significant accomplishment because of the sheer size of the project.

We dubbed ourselves MP3 Blues AllStars; and the track's name is "Rollin' Pin". It's a 7 minute Texas-style shuffle that began as a live in the studio session in Austin Texas laid down by Roy Cox & the BluesKnights; then via FTP and email, the tune bounced all over North America.

Each artist added his/her own track using whatever resources were available to them and then passed it along to the next artist. Sorta like passing the lead around the room or the stage to the one on your right, everyone took their 24 bars and off to the next artist... Only no one has ever met eye to eye.

This song is the epitome of where the technologies available today can take us as Independents tomorrow; and I believe that you'll find it interesting and appealing... Hear it for yourself at http://www.mp3.com/mp3BluesAllStars
