LONG WAY DOWN DUEL

The new duel pits an acoustic guitarist in one speaker versus an electric guitarist in the other speaker (both played by Johnson). Guitarists benefit from separate Jam Mixes including one with just the song's walking bass line--so you can jam along, or just to familiarize guitarists with the fretboard advantages of a key--here for the key of G. "Long Way Down Duel" comes complete with sheet music, guitar tablature (TAB) and separate tracks for acoustic guitar, electric guitar plus the Jam Mix rhythm track with just the walking bass line--all available free on-line or on a $6 CD (sheet music with rhythmic guitar tablature printed inside the CD booklet). "The purpose of the duels at AcousticGuitarist.Org is to elevate the richer but quieter tones of the acoustic guitar so that they can compare more equally with the electric guitar--both guitarists making beautiful music together was the goal,” said Johnson. Guitarists alternate between playing lead and rhythm, by virtual of multitrack recording. While one guitar plays licks, the other plays the walking bass line from "Long Way Down" to accompany their duelist. "Since Long Way Down is in the key of G, if you check out the supplied sheet music for the walking bass line with chord punches, you can quickly familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of the key of G,” said Johnson. Long Way Down Duel is the world's sixth guitarist duel sponsored by AcousticGuitarist.Org, preceded by Fatefully Duel, Walking Tall Duel, Hot Shot Duel, Rendezvous Duel and Are You Ready? All duels are freely downloadable in MP3 format, along with the walking-bass rhythm tracks and "acoustic only" and "electric only" tracks for jamming along.
