SEVEN STRING GUY

by Guy Pople, our 7 String Guy...
http://www.7string.org

In response to the growing cries for 7B tuned bits, here is the first of 2 instalments on the Modes for 7B tuners. By the way, if like me you are sick of being ripped off over string/plectrum costs (and I work for a music school/shop) why not check out http://www.webstrings.com. Also, I would appreciate any info that might take the burden off the guitarist's wallet.

If you want quality Pure Nickel Flat Wire Wound Strings, try http://www.PyramidStrings.com/

The Fingerweights are now proving to be really effective ... especially after a few weeks. They enable you to get that "work/burn" feeling in half the time.

...and remember, Practice = perfect!

This week, Ernie Ball Co. write to say...

Dear SevenStringGuy,

We manufacture 7-string sets. They are:
Super Slinky - 9,11,16,24,32,42,52
Regular Slinky - 10,13,17,26,36,46,56
Power Slinky - 11,14,18p,28,38,48,58

If you are used to using Hybrids, but still want to get the 58 on the lowest string, you might be better off doing what you are already doing - buying a 58 single string. Other than that, we do regularly sell the above listed 7-string sets to our customers.

You also might be interested to know that Ernie Ball Music Man now produces a 7-string guitar: The John Petrucci signature model. This was debuted just last month at NAMM in Anaheim. It is available now to order. You can find some information about it here:

"Your web site is awesome and has great info!"
...so writes Byron Smith, Product Manager at Ernie Ball Co.
