ABOUT MARCOS VINICIUS At only sixteen he received the 'Honorary Diploma' from the Cultural Department of Congonhas, a Brasilian city considered by Unesco to be a 'world historial asset' and in 1984 he won, by a unanimous vote, the prestigious 'National Villa-Lobos Guitar Competition'. A regular performer during the concert seasons of the major Brasilian cities such as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Recife and Belem, he has performed concerts in many countries such as Italy, Austria, Poland, Spain and Turchia. For his profound knowledge of guitarist repertoire, he was also invited in many TV and Radio programes. He has performed as guest soloist with the famous orchestras such as the 'Ensemble di Milano', the 'Pernambuco Symphony Orchestra', the 'Minas Gerais Symphony Orchestra' and made a memorable performance of the 'Aranjuez' with the Brasilian Symphony Orchestra receiving of the Critics Awards of 'Solist of the Year 1992'. His sound of rare beauty and his tipical performances attract the attention of new composers who dedicate him their pieces, for example Paolo Colombo and his 'Eco di una Lauda', and Claudio Tupinambá and his 'Around the Fire'.
