MUSIC HORROR STORIES PT1

I have two anecdotes from a time when I used to play solo gigs as a singer/guitarist :

1. My old Gibson Heritage steel-string has a plastic pocket stuck on the upper side so I could slip in a list of my song titles & sometimes, word cues for lyrics that I'd sometimes forget (all too often!). Anyway, one time I'd written my cues in red biro; all was well until the lighting guy bathed the stage in red........my writing dissappeared!

2. I was invited to play a Christian youth rally and wanted to wear a pair of chord pants that I'd not had on for a while. I'd put on a little weight in the meantime but as the zip had always been stiff, I was confident that I could perform my set with the top button undone (my untucked shirt covering the area in question). Half way through, to my horror, I felt the previously difficult zip starting to undo slowly with my every move! The result was twofold; I stood like a statue and raced through the rest of my time, dreading the concept that my pants would decend below my knees mid chorus.

I survived the experience however and was able to hold myself together while exiting the stage at the end of my performance!

Many thanks
Lindsay
