THE PERFECT ROCK 'N ROLL PHOTO A photo of The Clash bassist Paul Simonon smashing his guitar on stage has been picked as the perfect rock 'n' roll photo of all time. Britain's Q Magazine conducted a poll of music writers and 18 of the world's leading photographers. Pennie Smith's photo, taken during a September 1979 show at the New York Palladium, came up trumps. The band loved the photo so much that they used it on the cover of the 'London Calling' album (Click to see the photo).
