MANAGEMENT By Pat Savage Managers take on many jobs and faces. They can range from a full-scale controller of an artist's life and a comprehensive all-service person or company acting in conjunction with an artist, to a financial adviser and money caretaker, to a minor player attending to various aspects of an artist's career. Managers are exceptionally important for most artists, as they advise them on all aspects of their career, including recording contracts, booking agents, the venues and dates they should be or are performing at, the choice of a public relations firm and program, and the entire game plan for the artist's career. They also bring in accountants and financial advisors for the handling of all of the money generated by the commercial exploitation of that artist.
