GUITAR MAN ACOUSTIC GUITAR TIPS Acoustic Day-to-Day Resource http://www.guitartips.addr.com Question: What is your feeling about using a sound hole cover to enhance the sound, do you know the reasons for such a device, and the ups and downs? Michael Answer: First of all realize that a sound hole cover should only be used on an acoustic electric guitar. One with an on board peizo pick up, internal mic, pre-amp, etc. The sound hole cover is used to reduce or eliminate feedback. The downside is your guitar won't sound as good acoustically anymore unless you remove it. They are usually made of rubber and are a friction fit so they can be installed and removed easily. |
