WHO ARE YOU? Your acts name: HJ21 Tell us about one of your songs: Click on the MP3 link on our site. The song is called, "Rock is more than a four letter word." The title really says it all. This is our take on the state of the current global music scene - the mass produced boy and girl band, American Idol, Pop Idol, crap that an increasingly lemming like public swallows hook, line, and sinker. We like our music live, loud, uncontrived, and with hair on its balls.
What equipment do you use?: Also, take a look at the article on the website that recently featured in Guitar Magazine about my guitar collection. My main guitar is a Peavey Wolfgang, signal split through 5150 and Marshall Super Bass heads into a stereo converted Marshall 4x12 cab. Would you ever smash your guitar onstage? Please explain why: NEVER. I work too hard to buy my dream axes to just destroy them onstage and I think people who do are flaunting the fact that they seem to have made it (in their eyes at least) to the point where they don't have to revere, or even give a squat about their equipment. My guitars are works of art and each one comes with a unique story (again, have a look at the article on the site for the stories) and vibe. You get offered the opportunity to use one of your songs in a commercial. Would you do it and why? In a commercial - in a second - getting your music to the masses is a crap shoot - having a song in an advert in most cases highlights your band to some degree - and good or bad press, its all press. One other point, I'd like to meet the corporate big wig who would use one of our songs ("In Through The Back Door", "You Know You Love It You Slags" etc...) to promote one of their products.... What's your next musical move? HJ21 are currently recording our fourth CD, and continuing to tour across Europe. Our live shows are second to none, so if you enjoy a party in the good old Van Halen/Dave Lee Roth style, come and leer at us in front of your naked steaming eyes when we roll into your town.
