EARL KING DEAD R&B legend Earl King died April 17 from diabetes-related complications at the age of 69. He's probably best known for 'Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)', which was covered by Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. King's career started in the early 1950s, recording for Savoy and Specialty Records. His career took off in the 1960s, writing the 1962 hit 'Trick Bag'. He also penned tracks for Lee Dorsey, Willie Tee, Bernadine Washington and Professor Longhair. Artists such as Dr John and Fats Domino covered his songs. Recommended links:
