Starr Labs Announces New MIDI Guitar Model Z6-SX

New from Starr Labs for 2003, the Ztar model Z6-SX is a state-of-the-art performance controller for guitarists. The Z6-SX incorporates recent upgrades to the system that combine a versatile array of hardware performance tools with a completely revised onboard Operating System that more than doubles the speed of the controller while adding a long list of new software features. The patented Ztar fingerboard now allows overlapping strumming and tapping zones, polyphonic hammer-ons (in addition to it's 24-note polyphony per string) and individually programmable Fingerboard-keys for the ultimate in tuneability. The Fingerboard, right-hand String Triggers and all of the other Sensors have been given individually assignable, edit-able velocity-response curves to precisely dial in the touch for each part of the instrument. In addition to the new thumb-position 4-way joystick, (2) pedals ports, NeckSensing strip, and Breath controller, the top-mounted TPA1 assembly adds 6 programmable Expression pads and a programmable Ribbon controller, any of which may be used to play notes/chords/sequences/MIDI EFX and a host of other software options. Also, a bank of six rotary pots may be installed to allow directly tweakable control over setups in your hardware and software synths and other MIDI EFX gear. An optional USB port, embedded sound card, and portable battery supply are available. The Z6-SX is fabricated in a durable composite and is fully warrantied for two years

The new operating software embeds an onboard looping sequencer and a host of pattern-play and MIDI input mapping and triggering features. The result of over 20 years research, the Ztar has optimized hardware and an evolved software operating system for accurately putting a guitar performance into the world of MIDI and computer synth software.
