"When I first came across the guitar, it was being slammed into a Sunn amplifier and stomped on by none other than Jimi Hendrix, lighter fluid and all. (It was) at a loft party in the West Village, two days before a New Year's gig he was doing at the Fillmore East theater," the guitar's owner says.
